Hi,
Camera is great comparing to the peers in same price range (and even from a higher tiers). We were successfully using this camera model with our imaging software for more than 18 months in both US and Brazil: pediatric, endo, generalists, etc... It just works.
But something happened when we acquired new batch in NYC.
We're seeing a behavior change between two batches of the intraoral camera you supply (both built on the Sonix bridge, USB ID 0C45:64AB).
On the newer module, MLG-250521-J, the LED now turns on the moment the device gets USB power — as soon as it's plugged in, before any software opens the camera. On the older module, MLG-230823-WYZ, the camera's LED light only came on while the camera was actively streaming video (when connected to our imaging software).
Since both modules report the same USB identity, this looks like a firmware or board change within the same product line.
Our questions:
1. We'd like to know what changed between these two builds, and whether you can provide a firmware/EEPROM build for MLG-250521-J that gates the LED to active video streaming (like the older module)?
2. Can the LED can be controlled by software so we can keep it off by default, or whether it's wired directly to USB power?
P.S. It is pretty unfortunate change that makes our company start thinking of alternative camera options, if the solution can't be found / or is overly complex.
Thanks
