We do not recommend keeping the device connected to power for extended periods once it is fully charged, as maintaining a continuous charging state may affect battery life over time. Once the battery is full, it is best to stop charging. However, if you prefer to keep the unit on the docking station for storage convenience, you can simply disconnect the power supply from the docking station. This way, the device remains safely seated without being actively charged, which will not impact the battery.
For your reference, here are the standard charging details:
- Charging Time: Approximately 80 minutes of charging is required after each automatic shutdown.
- How to Charge: Connect the docking station to the power supply and align the device's charging hole with the docking station's charging interface.

FAQs

1. How to Charge Portable X-Ray Machines?

Battery status is displayed in the upper right corner of the LCD screen.
Insufficient battery capacity will affect image quality. Therefore, the operator needs to check the battery status frequently. When the battery capacity is deficient, the power symbol will display space, and the display panel will prompt low battery alert. Then the device will automatically shut down.
About 80 minutes of charging is required after each automatic shutdown. Connect the docking station to the power supply, and align the device's charging hole with the docking station's charging interface. The docking station indicates light illuminates orange to indicate it is charging, and the light illuminates blue to indicate it is fully charged.
Note:
The device can take about 300 shots when the battery is fully charged. (Exposure time 0.5s, interval between exposures: 30s)
When the battery is depleted to the 1-bar level or less than 1 bars, please have the system recharged before the subsequent exposure.
If the battery is not used for a long time, the device should be charged once every 3 months.

2. How to clean portable dental X-ray machines?

Before cleaning the product, turn off the power and disconnect the charging cradle
and the charger from the power.
When cleaning the surfaces, please make sure that the device is not connected to
the cradle.
The outer surfaces of beam-limiting cone, anti-scattering cover, and handheld X-ray
machine are to be cleaned. Cleaning can be done with a wipe or a soft cloth that is
damped in 75% alcohol.
Do NOT allow liquids to drop into the device, or the charger, or the charging cradle. (The XVbeam2000 device is not designed to be waterproof).
Do NOT spray liquid cleaner or disinfectant directly into the device, or the charger, or the charging cradle, as doing so could cause a fire or hazard.
The device and its accessories are not designed to be subjected to any kind of sterilization procedure.

3. Are portable dental X-ray machines safe to use?

Yes. Internal and external shielding of our portable X-ray machine provide sufficient radiation protection to allow the clinician to remain in the operatory with the patient.

4. Does a portable X-ray machine require regular inspection or calibration?

Yes. Routine performance checks, maintenance, and radiation-safety inspections may be required. Follow the recommended service schedule and applicable local regulations.

5. What should I do if the unit displays an error or does not produce an image?

Stop using the unit and check the battery level, exposure settings, image receptor, and operating instructions. Do not open or repair the device yourself. Contact our customer service for assistanceif the issue continues.

6. How do I select the correct exposure time?

The appropriate exposure time depends on the tooth area, patient size, image receptor, and machine settings. Follow the exposure chart and operating instructions provided with the unit. Do not guess exposure values.

7. Are they legal and approved in every state?

Not automatically. While many states permit FDA-cleared handheld units under specific exemptions (such as mandatory personnel monitoring badges and specialized operator training), regulations vary significantly by jurisdiction. Always check your state’s radiation control program before operation.
